Great Work on the House. Now Make Direct Contact with YOUR Representative.

We are hearing two things from Olympia.  First, they are hearing you.  Second, they don't know who you are or if you're really in their district.  This is not your fault.  We asked you to email the whole House, and you've done that.  Today is the last day of the Special Session, and so action today is crucial.

For our second wave today, we're asking you to look up your own Representatives, and contact them, by phone or email, specifically as a constituent.

Here's where you can look them up:  http://apps.leg.wa.gov/DistrictFinder/Default.aspx

Email reaches the Representatives on the House floor, and phone calls are powerful too.  Remember you have two Representatives in your district.

This is a sample of what you can say or write to their offices:

Dear Representative NAME,

I am a constituent of your district, and I am a voter.  As a person who cares deeply about arts and heritage, I ask you to pass 5834 today to ensure funding for 4Culture through the lodging tax.  I understand that this might not be your preferred  vehicle for funding 4Culture and housing, but this bill will save 4Culture without extending the "stadium taxes," and saving 4Culture is my immediate priority.

Thank you for your support.

You can add your own message of meaning to your email if you like.  The important thing is to identify youself as a constituent.

If you like, you can also contact the Representatives from your work address and talk to them as a worker in their district.

Thank you for all your work over the last months.  We always knew this was going to be a heavy lift, and we always knew you would be there to help push.
